MAYOR'S MESSAGE

Watauga, a city established in 1958, became a chartered Texas community in 1980.  Within five years of becoming chartered, a City Hall was built along with a small recreational building.  Foster Village Park dedicated in 1976, was the first park in Watauga.  Since then, six other parks have been established throughout the community of Watauga which give our citizens many opportunities for recreational activities, special event venues and family gatherings.  In addition to the city’s parks and trails system, the city also has a full size recreational facility, located at 7901 Indian Springs Rd.  Within this facility many programs and activities have been developed that include: youth and adult athletics, fitness activities, arts and crafts and senior adult programs just to name a few.  The community center is in the process of adding an additional wing to accommodate our active senior adult programs and is due to be completed in the spring of 2017.  We encourage our citizens to participate in these “top notch” programs in the coming year and take advantage of our quality of life services in the year to come.

For information about programs, special events and what is ahead, please visit our site or visit us on Facebook.
