Mayor’s Message

Summer is near its end which means the month of August is here.  We continue to ask to protect yourselves and your school children from the heat by providing them with drinking water and shade.

School children are returning to school this month so please obey all the laws around the school zones such as speed and no use of cell phones, etc.  The first day of school for students in Watauga will be as follows:

            Birdville ISD – Monday, August 21, 2017
            Keller ISD – Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Our City is continuing to work on improving our infrastructure by rebuilding streets, water lines, sewage lines and drainage ditches.  We ask all citizens to please be patient as the work continues in bettering our future.  When summer is over, our city parks and recreation building will be busy with people who are exercising for their health.  Let’s continue in sharing all of these areas which make Watauga “A Great Place to Live”.

The right-of-way is 22 feet in width and about 2.5 miles long. This grant will be for landscaping and irrigation only but, the City in the future may consider a running/walking trail within this area.
