According to the 2000 Census, owner occupied property makes up 85.5% of the total property occupancy in the City.  This leaves 14.5% of the properties as renter occupied properties.

The City of Watauga owns its water system. The maximum system capacity is 16,000,000 gallons. The maximum daily use to date is 8,000,000 gallons. The pressure on mains is 90 PSI.  The maximum capacity of the City sewer system is 20,000,000 gallons.  The maximum daily use to date is 13,000,000 gallons.

The City of Watauga is located close to two major airports (DFW and Alliance) and is just off of the Loop 820 with easy access to Interstate 35.  A long list of freight carriers serve the City and Burlington Northern Railroad is available as well.
