Each item may be renewed two (2) times. We offer an auto-renewal service for any items that do not have requests or if your account has no overdue materials or fines of $5.00 or more. Materials may also be renewed by phone at 817.514.5864 during library hours or through your on-line library account.
Expanding the traditional role of children's services, a Family Place Library builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement, and supportive communities play a critical role in young children's growth and development.
Grades 1 to 6 may receive help with their homework at our Homework Help Center on Tuesdays, 3:45 pm to 5:45 pm, and Thursdays, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, during the school year. The Brainfuse on-line service offers live tutoring, job coaching and an Adult Learning Center.
The Library has many ESL classes. Classes vary based on availability of teachers and space. Please call the Library at 817.514.5865 or come to the Reference Desk for more information. All classes are free.
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and Computer Basics classes are taught when staff or volunteers are available. Classes are advertised in the Library's monthly newsletter, and on the Library webpage.
The Library may accept teens and adults who need to work community service hours for a variety of reasons including honor society requirements and court-ordered service. All volunteer opportunities are contingent upon staff schedules. Potential volunteers may be turned away if all volunteer positions are full. In most cases volunteers work one 2-hour shift per week. A permit is required for a garage sale. A garage sale permit can be acquired on the first floor of the Water Tower. Permits should be purchased at least 12 hours in advance of the sale and cost $8.00.
Street Light Outage Reporting:Street light outages may be reported online at OncorStreetLight.com by calling Oncor's 24-hour outage hotline at 888.313.4747 or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please provide basic contact information in case they need additional information or clarification so that we can locate and repair the light quickly. In the event of a broken pole, Oncor contractors have 30 days to install a replacement.
